yes, the EGR valve is sticking...the PCV valve is disconnected the butyl rubber vacuum hoses are all leaking and should be replaced with silicone rubber. The vacuum adavance is sucking air, fuel filter and air filter clogged, thermal control not adjusted properly~

wow all that can cause it and another on the intake manifold on top is an air control wired to harness, you might try to remove and clean or replace that part, its energized from a engine temperature sensor t6hat also may be bad

Your ignition advance is electronic, so there isnt a vacuum advance to suck air. IDK what a thermal control is on a 4.3. Which engine do you have? 4.3 tbi or 4.3 cpi? The problem with these engines is alot of problems cause the same symptoms. Could be IAC, MAP, TPS, Vacuum leak, bad ECM, fuel problem. You can test fuel pressure and vacuum to pinpoint or rule out those systems. The MAP and TPS are easily testable with a volt meter. The IAC is possible to test with an ohm meter. If everything checks out then it could be the computer.

oops. drat. electronic everything....kinda good but '94 seems like one of those crossover years. Perhaps there ARE leaking vacuum connections, and the original diagnosis is still valid~
