1994 z71 temperature gauge reading low

Asked by May 14, 2019 at 10:02 PM about the 1994 Chevrolet C/K 1500

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My engine coolant gauge stopped working. It reads zero all
the time. I replaced the engine coolant sensor and still
nothing. What do I need to check next. The 94 chevy truck
does not overheat and it seems everything is still operating
normally except for the temp gauge. Also tested the gauge
itself and it was fine

Is your heater working? If not I'd suspect the thermostat Is stuck open. If you have heat inspect the wiring going to the coolant temperature sensor. You may have a break in the wire(s). Hope that helps! Jim
