Rods an Bearings
its a 97 Chevy s10 2.2 under 100,000 miles.
I started the truck one cold morning like in the teens cold, i needed to mve it
from my front yard and i didn't allow it to warm up it had a slight knock,
sounded like it would if the oil was low kinda knock. As i pulled it out of my
front yard to drive way the knock was a lot worse, taking into mind that it wasn't
good not to let it warm up and the sound was worse i believed that maybe a
barring went bad in turn. The truck sat for like 2 to 3 days and i went to start it
and it was horrendous didn't sound as though it was going to go through the
hood and i didn't see no smoke i chose to shut it off and leave it sit till i asked
around, i had a backyard well known mechanic take a look see and he said
maybe the timing then when my father had an emergency and was taken by
ambulance i had no one to take me to him.....so i said i will drive my truck to
him even if i blow it up. On the way to the E.R. the knock would increase with
the increase of the engine as well as decrease with the engine. it seem to be a
little louder by the time i arrived at the e.r. and i didn't speed i tried to not
accelerate but coast mostly. upon the drive home i did the same but it seem to
loose a little power accelerating up hills by the time i arrived home it was no
louder and still no smoke but did have a little bit of a burnt odor i guess is how i
could describe it....
was looking to replace barrings but was told i replace one i should replace all
and im not made of money, im a single mom of 5 boys and budgeting is
extreme with my household...I now am looking to buy a motor and that is not
looking so well. I need any and all help and insight..pls and thanks
Momma of 5 Boys.
