2002 Chevy S-10 4.3 v6 that has the code of cyl 4 misfire but there is no misfire.
on my 02 Chevy S-10 4.3 v6 that has the code of cylinder 4 misfire but there is no misfire, the truck runs and idles perfect, I have to get the thing smog tested and it will not pass because check engine light is on.
MAF sensor was cleaned and plug and wires are new. its like the code is stuck in the computer.
Just cause you can't feel a misfire doesn't mean it isn't there, the computer is constantly checking the amount of voltage required to fire each cylinder, it is possible that you have an injector that is partially plugged or an internal vacuum leak so that cylinder is leaner than the others but is getting enough fuel to burn so it doesn't feel like a normal dead miss. You could try having the injectors professionally cleaned to see if that helps. If not it maybe internal, but a shop will have to determine that.
All tho, it may have ben a fluke and is cleared up. You can go to Auto Zone and use their scanner to clear the code which will reset the check engine light. But if it comes back on and you get the same code it would be:P0304 CHEVROLET - Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected.... Possible causes - Faulty spark plug 4 - Clogged or faulty fuel injector 4 - Faulty ignition coil 4 - Fuel injector 4 harness is open or shorted - Fuel injector 4 circuit poor electrical connection - Ignition coil 4 harness is open or shorted - Ignition coil 4 circuit poor electrical connection - Insufficient cylinder 4 compression - Incorrect fuel pressure - Intake air leak
