Question type: General

Can my 2004 chevy s10 4×4, extended cab, 6 cyl,
truck tow a 2002 bmw 530i (on a tow dolley)
without damaging my s10? Only have to tow car at
most 30 miles on fairly flat land. Good idea or no?

That is a heavy load, maybe too heavy. The car with dolly may weigh over 5,000 pounds. Towing with the rear wheels on the ground would probably damaged the BMW's transmission so disconnect the driveshaft.

Car ?? If so put the drive wheels on the tow dolly even if that means the front tires aren't on the dolly FWD/ RWD !!!

If the BMW is AWD you'll have to pull the drive shaft no matter what if you put it on a car dolly but that's a lot of car to pull with an s10 pulling isn't the problem stopping is the big problem, that's why most of your bigger trucks have the brake assist box for bigger trailers that have electric brakes in them, another option is using a tow bar, they have wiring attachments to plug into most cars to run the transmission pump so you don't fry your transmission while towing it, look into that option also, I drive a tow truck for a living just giving you my professional opinion
