Does a 2004 Chevy S10 have a 2.2 engine?
I have a 2004 Chevy S10.I was looking for parts that fit my truck & asked what size engine it is.I told the parts employee that it is a 4 cylinder engine,2.2.He asked,"Are you sure that's the right year?"He then said the 2004 S10 has a V6 in it,not a 4 cylinder.I was looking up heater core & fail safe thermostat.
The car came a V-6 are you sure the engine wasn't changed at some point? http://www.edmunds.com/chevrolet/s-10/2004/crew-cab/features-specs/
I bought my S10 as is from car dealership in Dallas,Ga. January 2015.

What's the eighth character of your vehicle identification number (VIN)? That gives us the engine size. The tenth tells us the model year. Both rockauto and gmpartsdirect only show the V6 available, in the United States, for a 2004 S- 10 Pick Up. Engine size shouldn't matter for the heater core but if worse comes to worse try a thermostat for the '03 2.2L 4 cylinder. HTH. -Jim
Just double checked the part numbers. '03 and '04 V6 heater core is the same. '03 4 cylinder heater core is also the same. So tell them you have an '03 with the 2.2L 4 cylinder and you should be fine. HTH. -Jim
Would that be the vortec engine?
