will there be problems buying a prelude 1984 manual transmission??

if used,their is always a chance for a problem.the only advice i can give is put it in car and hope for the best.

Is it manual or automatic? Either way, you should be fine given proper maintenance. Out of over 25 cars I've had, most being 1990 or earlier, I have seen only one auto transmission fail, and it was bad when my wife bought the car before we started dating.
