Question type: General

When should I replace 2002 honda crv timing belt?  The diagnostic tool says
the camshaft sensor was bad, but it might be a timing belt/chain issue.

Good News. Your 2002 Honda CRV came with one engine choice, the 2.4 liter four cylinder and it has a timing chain which normally lasts the life of the vehicle without being serviced or replaced. If you are seeing a fault code for camshaft sensor, P0340, replace it and cancel the code. You should be okay at that point. It is true that a belt or chain that has jumped a cog or two indicates a sensor fault but that rarely happens on a timing chain engine until it has a kazillion miles on it.

What qualifies as a kazillion miles? Looking at one with 200,000 miles.
