2001 Honda CR-V Fuel Question

Asked by Mar 16, 2016 at 08:36 PM about the 2001 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

So my gas is pretty low on my 2001 Honda CR-V. The meter is at almost the
bottom of the bar, sort of right at that bottom line. I don't really have much
money on me right now to fill it, and I have to go and babysit today, drive
about 9 or 10 miles total to and back. Will I be okay fuel wise?

You be pushing it, take some gas with or dump it in. Even a gallon of gas. Don't know how accurate the fuel gauge is.

Agree with Rowefast here again. Word of advise, never run the tank lower than 1/4 tank, doing so will shorten the fuel pumps life, running below 1/4 tank exposes the fuel pump allowing it to run hotter than normal as it uses the fuel as a coolant.
