96 CRV Door Lock Mechanism

Asked by Apr 27, 2019 at 01:14 AM about the 1996 Honda CR-V

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

When I turn the key to unlock/lock the car, it only unlocks/locks the drivers
door and doesn't do anything to the passenger doors, which is very frustrating
as I then have to unlock/lock the doors from the inside of the car.

Could anyone shed any light on how or what I need to change in order for the
car doors locking mechanism works?

If any further information is needed please ask and I will try my best to provide
you with the required info.

Thanks in advanced.

The procedure is: first turn of the key locks the driver's door; the second turn locks all others. If the other doors don't lock/unlock on the second key turn, you just have a defective contact between the door lock and the other doors. could be just a malfunctioning switch.
