Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Battery sparks and tries to crank the truck when the negative cable is attached. No key is in the ignition, the truck cranks but doesn't turn over. Starter is 6 months old, it has a new starter solenoid , voltage regulator and ignition switch. Where else do I need to look ?

disconnect the ingnition switch lead on the solenoid and reconnect the ground at the battery if it tries to start its a bad solenoid, if it doesn't then the problem is in the ign switch or wiring between.
