No shift 1st to 2nd after sitting

Asked by Jun 13, 2018 at 02:12 PM about the 2007 Chevrolet Uplander

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

About a year ago my 2007 uplander failed to shift from 1st to 2nd in the first shift sequence. It hit about 3000 rpm and I then lost forward drive (like it was in neutral), I continued to coast until rpm's fell to about 1500 and by tapping the gas pedal I made it shift int 2nd. It shifted perfect after that until I parked it. Next time out it failed again (1st to 2nd, first time only) and its been that way ever since. The first shift (1st to 2nd) always fails after sitting for an hour or more, until I make it shift by manipulating rpm's to make it shift. No codes are showing but check engine light has been on for 2 yrs stating emission sensor issue and hasen't been cleared.  ANY IDEAS?
