engine light is on stating "a/c turned off to protect engine" and my tempature
gadge is staying on cold. ?

Sound like the thermostat needs to be replaced if the engine is not getting to operating temperature. Also it could be a bad Temperature Control Sensor. If you have the vehicle scanned for codes, that would tell you what the problem is.

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Uplander and I just traded my car in for it and I just noticed that it sounded louder than usual and my temperature gauge is not reading and it's saying A/C off to protect engine. Why would it do this?
