Security issue?

Asked by Jessica May 10, 2016 at 05:27 PM about the 2006 Chevrolet Tahoe

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Tahoe was stolen then ditched because fuel pump
went out.  All fuel issues have been resolved,  but
now the Tahoe won't stay running after started.
They destroyed the steering column and ignition,
just replaced those.  Now what? Any ideas?

It has the pass key security feature. You have to replace the broken ignition components and do the relearn procedure. The truck will crank only once when the security is tripped, I have a feeling they left it because they turned it off after breaking the column and it wouldn't start again.
