Diesel oil in my regular f150
Is it bad to put diesel oil in my regular f150 just
trying to figure out if its gonna damage my truck or
not before I drive around to much
Not real clear here cause Diesel is an actual oil. Did you put diesel fuel in the tank or did you put Diesel engine oil in the oil pan? If you Delo or 15W40 engine oil in the oil pan, it’s a little to heavy weight for the engine, could cause internal engine problems especially with any hydraulic control like lifters, VVT systems. If you put Diesel as a fuel, it just depends on how much diesel you put in, if to much it won’t run very long as the fuel is to thick to get by the injectors, if only a gallon or two it will smoke some but will burn it out.
Diesel spec oil in your crankcase will not lubricate as well as what is specified for your truck. Diesel fuel in the gas tank, in very small quantities, won't harm the engine. It will cause the engine to run rough for a little while until the fuel is gone. A full tank of Diesel fuel should be removed before you drive the truck.
