What can i do to improve the horsepower on my 2007 Ford F150 lariat 5.4l truck. I dont have the cash to put in a supercharger but would like to know my options... thanks

Hi marksford, First, I would look into a cold air intake system (K&N, ARI, AirGen, etc). Then try to find a header/exhaust combination (JBA, DynoMax, FlowMaster) that might be available for your vehicle. Next, see if you can have the ECU reprogrammed (JET, BullyDog) to obtain peak performance and shift points. Hope this helps!

Simple things like switching to a synthetic oil , or using high octane fuel will make a small gains in horsepower . This is cheap to do !! Using synthetic oil and high octane fuel is a step up in keeping your engine running smoother and enabling the computer to re-calibrate to produce more horsepower and torque (the higher octane fuel enables the computer produce a better spark advance curve as well as modifying the fuel delivery ) Synthetic oil enables the engine to work harder and provides superior protection over regular oil .
