Fuel pump and relay

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I am being told that a faulty fuel pump and or relay
can cause the ignition switch to go bad. Is that
true? I have a 2006 Ford Ranger

I don't see how? I just looked at your wiring diagram, 3.0L engine, I don't see connection with ignition switch? Just my opinion.
