I have to pump the gas pedal a few times to get my 2006 to turn over

Is it the starter on my 2006 Ford focus. My car is a little hard to start.

Nope, it’s a ford... needs high maintenance unlike toyota. Check spark plugs, spark plug gaps clean o2 sensors, change air filter with new one. On bottoms side of air filter box drill holes so car breath from more than a McDonald’s straw of a hole they factory give it to breath

Most likely, this is a dirty idle air control valve or defective cold-start injector sticking at startup, and opening up using the accelerator makes up for this. This also affects how the engine behaves when coming to a stop. This could also involve the throttle position sensor and/or the fuel pressure regulator. You need a mechanic to diagnose and fix this.
