1966 Mustang fender.

Asked by Garym Jul 22, 2007 at 11:34 AM about the 1966 Ford Mustang

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 1966 Mustang.  I am looking to replace the left fender and it probably doesn't need a factory one. So my question is aftermarket. Anybody had any luck with these and if so,what Name or Company, I would appericate any info.  Thanks Gary

Do a search for "reproduction Mustang parts." There is enough aftermarket availability that you could literally build a brand-new '66 Mustang if you wanted to. :) Most vendors are making them to OE Specs so you shouldn't have a problem with fit.

Be aware of overseas reproductions. They may say they are to OE specs, but the quality never really seems up to par. The basic consensus is that they are thinner and they never fit quite right. The best reproducions are the ones made from "Ford Tooling".
