I have an 69 Chevelle Malibu with no chevelle emblem in the front of driver
side. From what i know, it never been wrecked to where they had to from the
emblem. Does anyone know why is this.
Back in those days emblems bolted onto the vehicle. They weren't glued on like today's vehicles. If the car was repainted at some point the emblem could have been lost. It could have rusted and fallen off. There should be small holes in the fender where it would bolt on. If you can, look at the inside of the fender for the holes being filled in with body filler. That means the car was repainted and probably a replacement emblem couldn't be found. I'm sure you can find a reproduction or good used on on Ebay or a Chevelle website. Hope that helps! Jim
Not sure if I worded it correctly but I put a picture.
I see. Same thing applies. Look at the underside of the panel and see if you find holes filled in with body filler. That emblem would have been bolted on originally. Hope that helps! Jim
