Best rear end for 402 eng / 400 turbo trans?

Asked by Apr 25, 2016 at 06:34 PM about the 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle

Question type: General

Howdy, I have a 1971 eng 402 bb bored over 30
with a strong 400 turbo trans on my 68 chevelle.
Im looking to see what rear end best fits this
combo for a street and strip take off. I was
thinking of a 12 bolt.  Any suggestions?

4:11 possie traction.

4:11 possie traction. Gas mileage won't be good tho.

Good choice on the ratio Rowefast, but I think I would go with a limited slip not a positrac.

Oh but there sooo much fun...maybe something with a possie clutch pack? If only rodded on it once in a while?
