I have recently noticed that when I press down on the clutch pedal, it does not return and I must use my foot to bring the pedal up again. In addition, I am having issues with placing it in gear. It does not happen every time that I drive it, but I am noticing a greater frequency.

What could be the cause?
What kind of money are we talking to fix the problem?

Try having the slave pistion that disengages the clutch from the engine checked out. Could be a bad slave pistion, bad pressure in the line that makes the pistion move.

Had the same problem with my 2007 Tacoma. Don't know if the '95 uses the same type system, Check if the master clutch reservoir is full. If it is not, you could have a leak. You could try to bleed the system at the slave cylinder. If not could be the master clutch cylinder or the slave cylinder. I replaced both, and that solved the problem. Both cost under $100 online.
