What is a good oil additive for a motor that the oil
rings are going bad an smoking alittle burning oil
other than replacing rings of course what could I add
to squeeze some more life out

I would try a heavier grade oil if you have not already, up to 20W-50. If you go to the auto parts store there is no shortage of oil additives that claim to help reduce oil consumption.

I've used Restore before, it helps, but you have to add a can per oil change and it's expensive.
