I have gas leaking into the driver side frame runner in my 2001 tacoma. Where would the leak come from?

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My wife noticed a gas smell and saw gas leaking from the truck. The
mechanic put it on the lift and found no gas leak. We smelled gas in it today
and I looked underneath and saw that it was coming from a hole (not rot) in
the drivers side rail.

If you mean that it's leaking from the frame, that's because they usually run the gas line along the inside of the frame. It's a nice place for all the sand and road salt to collect and rot out your line. Wish they would use stainless steel for gas and brake lines. Just had to replace the gas line on my kids '95 Camry. Right from the fuel filter back to the tank.
