Convertible Rear Window Issue

Asked by TOPOPT Aug 31, 2010 at 04:44 PM about the 2001 Toyota Camry Solara

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2001 Solara, the window makes a popping/banging sound when it's 95% down in the trunk.  I just bought the car and the previous owner  did not have a problem.  I'm new to convertiibles...am I doing something wrong, seems like a clearance issue, thoughts?

Ok, I put the roof down in steps to see what was going on - and it seems the window has been catching on the lip that separates the back seats to the roof storage area. Put down carefully under supervision seems to help make sure the window clears. Curious as to why this would happen, maybe the cloth/window is adjusting as it lowers. Curious.
