Problems with acceleration

Asked by Dec 30, 2017 at 06:55 AM about the 2004 Suzuki Verona

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I'm probably thinking no ones going to
respond but here it goes. I have a 2004
Suzuki Verona and a couple months ago
I've started having issues with the gas
pedal. Within 30 minutes of the starting the
car, it does this weird thing where the car
slows down, shakes and no matter how
hard I push the gas pedal it won't speed
up. I can press the pedal all the way to the
ground and it makes a sound that it wants
to speed up but can't. This lasts from
about a couple seconds to a minute.
Another thing that happens is that the
check engine light flashes on and off. After
half an hour these episodes go away and
the car is perfectly fine. Does anyone know
what could possibly be causing this to
happen? Sorry for not including more
details, I'm not super knowledgeable on
cars. Thank you!

'll respond. Sound like possible misfires. When the check engine light comes on or was on, there are fault codes that get stored in the cars computer. You can have this read to determine why your car is not running properly. A mechanic can do it, a local auto part store for free or you can buy one for around $20. You will get 4 digit fault codes which correspond to a specific area of the car or sensor telling you what the car is detecting as a potential problem.
