Subaru engine swap

Asked by RedJoe808 Jul 14, 2017 at 10:41 AM about the 2004 Subaru Legacy

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My brother let his timing chain break on his 2008
manual subaru outback. And my question is could I
drop the older engine right in his car? Or is this
going to be to much of a hassle. Also my car the
2004 legacy is an automatic if that makes a
difference.
