Car keeps shutting off , even whike driving

My 1994 Pontiac grand am will continue to shut off
, even while driving & starts to jerk while driving.
Mostly shuts off when I'm putting it in reverse but
it's starting to shut off while I'm driving . Not sure
what's wrong with it. Please help!?

Is the service engine light on? There are to many things to name that might be causing this to happen. The easiest thing to do is take it in to your nearest shot and get the computer scanned to find out exactly what is causing this. I had a similar issue just last week with my 2000 grand am 2.4l and after scanning it using my ODB II reader I found out it was the Crankshaft Position Sensor that was causing this. I got it changed and the car is running perfect again. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Cheers.

I forgot to mention this, in my case my service engine light was never on even though this sensor was faulty. So it could be something as silly as a sensor that is causing this.
