How do you RESET your RELAY switch to alarm system for 1998 Pontiac Firebird?

Asked by Wendy May 17, 2017 at 06:12 PM about the 1998 Pontiac Firebird

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

Someone mentioned it might be the OEM too so want to rule out other things
that may be causing my 1998 Pontiac Firebird to randomly not start after I
attempt to do so with key & backup key. Security light stays lit when it doesn't
start and have to wait 3 minutes before Security light goes off then I can try
again.

First of all make sure your battery connections are not corroded and you have a tight clean fit then also make sure your key is clean in the ignition is clean no dust or dirt make sure the keys not super worn out and then additionally I would take the negative ground cable off and let it sit for 10 minutes and then reinstall it and that might reset it
