2000 Grand Prix rides like riding a wooden roller coaster when pressing gas pedal only.

Asked by Jul 22, 2016 at 02:07 PM about the 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

2000 Grand Prix 6 cyl. rides like being on a wooden roller coaster but only
when you press the gas pedal.  Drives fine when not giving it gas.  Thought it
was tires/alignment but had this done and doesn't fix problem.  Please help!

It may be the transmission or, if the service engine soon light is flashing the engine may be misfiring under load. If the engine is misfiring under load you may just need a tune up (new spark plugs and spark plug wires). HTH. -Jim
