Question type: Maintenance & Repair

This is going to be lengthly. Read on please. I am in need of direction for car
just purchase on tight budget. My description of things, completely not having
a clue, makes me probably sound like a true blonde and need to be
reiterated more than once...Lol i just moved back to Texas from Panama City
Beach, FL. My RX8 didnt make it. When i arrived I called around and found a
2000 Pontiac Grand Am V6 at a towing yard that had been in a high speed
chase. Cops stopped it with nails. i bought car reasonable as is. Well, I am
female so bare with me. First thing 2 front tires and key to start from
dealership. Steering column already loose. Key worked first couple days
then wouldnt unlock to turn. Put in new ignition switch. R
That worked. Car started running hot. wasnt driving far. Relays and fuses not
right. Fans werent working. Floor wet on floor board from overheat. Decided
heater. Didnt by pass heater yet. Car just quit getting hot. this is just first
week of ownership. Car really descent for price so I am continuing on. lots of
other little thing I will get help with later. Ok, fan motor was wired with bypass
and started working Now . Now its shutting down while driving. My daughters
boyfriend did something that helped for a couple days till he borrowed the
bcar. He called my daughter, said it was getting hot, not in the red and he
cooled it down and brought home. I then took car to walmart. Car stalled on
me pulling into paking lot. I couldnt get it to start. it turned over great. No
spark. I bought the starter fluid spray i got it started but didnt make it home. I
didnt use the spray anymore. got car home turns over doesnt start. There is
multiple things that need corrected under hood. Dont know any mechanics
here so I am gonna put some faith in yall. I bought a circuit tester so I am not
second guessing relays I googled for a bit and thought a crank shaft sensor
might be the reason no start. Bought one. Car has two. I am trying to locate
the 7X first. Coils look bad. Something down to the right side of engine when
facing, about the circumference of a regular flashlight(reference to size of
housing width) with a quarter size head to to the female end of a plug with
lots of holes ablling it to fit with other part pulled apart and laying butted up in
wrong direction in front. I had to turn to make fit and they plugged in
perfectly. I am trying to Google engine diagram to find part. There is tons of
little things to get car in check. Running will be a great start! Your help will be
greatly appreciated
