Sounds to me like the starter is not engaging to the engine ... it sounds like a motor spinning

Make sure battery has a full charge. If the starter motor is spinning but not engaging the flywheel, maybe the flywheel is missing some teeth? Sometimes you can move the vehicle forward or backward a little and position the flywheel teeth so the starter will engage. Where applicable remove the flywheel cover, see if the starter drive gear is trying to engage flywheel. It could be the starter itself, take off the starter, lay it on the ground, hook up jumper cables properly from battery to starter, at the least, it should kick out the drive gear and spin. Some of the national brand auto stores will check the starter for you, if you take it to them.

Bad starter if battery is good, you hear the starter spin, meaning bad abendex in the starter.
