This is a common occurrence when you run out of fuel. First off, can you hear the fuel pump when you turn the key to the on position? If so turn the key on and off multiple times to pressurize the system and then start. If not, the fuel pump burned out and you need to replace. Replace the fuel filter as well, as it could be clogged with dirt that was sucked up from the bottom of the tank from running it dry.

The fuel lines and injectors can also be clogged with dirt and would need to be flushed.
