Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2001 grand am when you drive at 55 to 60 mph for 15 min it will shut off. There is hesitation or anything. If i drive around town the car runs great under 45 mph.

This could be an overheating ignition module or fuel pump. When it reaches a certain temp it malfunctions and bam, you are left sitting. It could also be a fuel pump relay. How long does it take for it to restart after one of these shutoffs? More information would help, but you're going to need to see a real-life mechanic in the end, since there are enough systems on the newer OBD-II cars to make online diagnosis difficult if not impossible.
