Drivers side door latch is broken

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

The drivers side door latch is broken on our 2002 Pontiac Sunfire.  It's the piece that looks like a "C" and fits over the pin when shut.  I cannot find a replacement on the internet, or maybe I'm not using the correct term.  How hard is this to replace?

For some strange reason, there's no section in the Autozone manuals that even gets close to this, which suggests that there may be something difficult here. Given that it's General Motors, the door parts are probably almost identical across all cars(Saturns included). I think it would be a good idea if you were to go to a junk yard with your tools and try to extract that part from a GM car. Disassembly will give you a good idea of the difficulty you will have during installation without waiting for a pre-removed part to ship, and if it proves too difficult, you can opt to take the whole assembly minus locks, or even the entire door if it will fit your car. I'm almost certain that you will want to pack a grease gun for this occasion.
