Question type: Shopping & Pricing

I am thinking of purchasing a used 2003 Audi A4 with 76000 miles on it.  Does anyone know of any major problems with these cars?  I just want to make sure I am making a good decision.

timing belt should be changed at 75k along with the water pump and make sure the pump is metal.. i have 78k on the stock belt/pump but im ganna change mine soon. once it snaps and your fucked. also dont get the auto trannys, they're very weak make sure you get a manual. also, the window regulators like to go bad but if you fix it yourself it will cost around 100-150 for the part. (ive done 3) coil packs go regularly also ^^ this is all for the 1.8t as for the 3.0 their pretty solid reliablity wise engines a lot weaker performance wise, the performance market sucks, and the car is bitchier to work on than the 1.8t's with a chip on the 1.8t and supporting mods (upgraded diverter valve, exhaust, testpipe, fmic) you'll be able to smoke a 3.0 if you have more questions message me

I need help on making a decision on purchase for 2003 audi A4-AWD 3.0(9,5K) dealer states two catyst converters need to be done on the vehicle. I live in an emission county which wouldn't pass the emission test due to this piece(2 ?). Is there a way I could get this done outside of the dealership and what will be my cost- Dealer is not giving me any warranty on the car which puts me to buy outside warranty and reasons for getting the job down outside of the dealership?? Please help and advise... should I trash the thought and keep looking*?
