do you have to pressureize the gas lines after changing the fuel pump and filter

I changed the fuel pump and filter and it starts but stalls out a few seconds later cant even hit the gas to keep running

You might have some vapor lock after changing the pump. Disconnect the fuel line at the engine and have an assistant hold the free end over a gas can. Cycle the key on and off to make sure gas is flowing each time. Do this until you see solid fuel with no foam. Reconnect the fuel line, you should be good to go.
