2003 Pontiac sunfire battery, oil and check engine light on at the same time, car cranks over but doesn't start.

Asked by Missalice Jan 12, 2017 at 08:21 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Sunfire

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My car was idling and in park then all of a sudden it jerked and a few poot
poots came from the engine and died. I tried to start the engine, it cranks
over but doesn't stay on.
After I found out that my car won't start, the oil, battery, and check engine
light all came on at the same time on my dash board.
I have a new starter put in July or August of last year 2016
I've heard it can be an array of things, i'm just trying to get a straight
answer for my specific car model.
Any help or suggestions would be great.

Since your check engine light went on, that would be my starting point, you will need to get any codes that are stored in the ECM (Main Computer) this information will lead you to the cause of the problem.
