GrAm Dies While Running - Air Bag light comes on, seems to lose power.

Asked by Nov 01, 2016 at 02:01 PM about the 2003 Pontiac Grand Am

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

My Grand Am will randomly die, no set pattern, but the first thing I notice, the
airbag light comes on. Then, it takes more RPMs to get up to speed.
Eventually, the car will just die and won't restart for several minutes.

I had a diag done and they couldn't find anything wrong, they said because
the car wouldn't mess up while they were doing the diags. The lock cylinder
is messed up and they said it had a bad ignition switch, but said it could also
be the BCM. Anyone have this experience? I'm planning on replacing the
switch and cylinder, hoping it will solve the problem.
