Your leaking coolant?

was also going to check the thermostat when I noticed it

no. I was going to make sure it was flowing to check thermostat

Are you talking about the coolant going back into the over flow while cooling down? That normal.

after it was cooled i opened the cap and it was constant slow flow out of the radiator.

Out of the radiator and not going into the over flow?

you are correct cjsras

the venicle is not overheating but it is running hotter than normal. so maybe thermostat anyways.

The coolant flowing out just sounds very normal to me,everything is cooling and contracting,it's not going to hurt if you replace the thermostat, just remember to bleed the system really good or you will over heat.
