Will the altenator from a Cavalier fit a Pontiac Grand am

I am trying to get my car going for an early appt. Monday morning.. the only alternator I can locate is out of a Cavalier..I was wondering if it will fit my grand am.. before I go thru the trouble of going to the scrap yard and picking it..

if it the same housing and the pully interchange??

I have no idea... just getting ready to go the parts place.. did not want to do that unless someone could tell me... oh well..


I looked it up ... T_S_T is correct ... and Kelly ... Housing and interchange are important but Regulation/output are critical to ECU
