Depends what shape car is in and if you're willing to spend about $800to $1200 to repair the head

If you do both heads it will probably be more.

At its age, it is fully depreciated and not worth more than what the repairs are likely to cost. Since it will never have any higher residual value, and your insurance will not pay any significant money if wrecked, I would scrap the car and find another. Even if you just get a beater for basic transportation it would be the smarter move financially. Then set your sites on what you can buy as a better replacement.
