Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I have a 2005 Grand Prix, it has not given any issues befor
but lately when I accelerate the engine makes a humming
noise. I'm tight with cash and can't afford to spend $500
just to have it looked at.

check transaxle fluid level

Also check the power steering fluid level. If you can make the noise occur when in PARK, listen closely to the engine while someone else increases the RPMs and see if you can isolate the area it is coming from.
