2005 grand prix reads a code 0446 and it stalls while idling

Inspect the vent hoses for a restriction. This code is telling us there's a restriction in the vent portion of the EVAP system. Once you make the repair clear the computer. The EVAP readiness monitor is the hardest on to get to see. Consequently the check engine light may remain on a very long time.
