My 96 Plymouth has a 3.3 and a 3 SPD od it shifts into all gears heard a wineing now slips in whatever gear it gets in and the fluid smells burnt my question is anyone think it can be saved

No, time for a rebuild or replacement. But being a '96 probably you have high mileage, so not worth fixing,. Time to find another vehicle,
