My car wont start.

I have a 2000 Plymouth Neon. It was been sitting for a couple years without being started. I just put gas in it and put a new battery in it the engine is trying to turn over but it wont start. It did not have any coolant in it and had very little oil but i am going to put more in today. Someone told me i might need a new gas filter. What could be the problem and what can i do about it?
