How to fix my radio?

Asked by Autumn May 15, 2014 at 04:50 PM about the 1999 Oldsmobile Alero

Question type: Maintenance & Repair

I put my car in the ditch a few years
back. And my radio hasn't worked
since. When I turn it on all I get is
static. Then when I turn my steering
wheel to the left it will work (but not
great). Then when I turn it to the right
it just stops working again. I was
wondering if anyone knew how to fix
this and could help me out. I feel like
it should be an easy fix that I can do
myself but I don't know where to
look or what to do. And I'm not a
professional or anything so it might
not be easy at all.

It might be that the antenna cable is loose. It should be a simple plug in. Reach behind the radio and make sure that the cable is plugged in all the way. Hope this helps.

The thing is, is that CDs don't work either. Would it still be the antenna cable?

No, if the CDs are not working, it's something else. Sorry that I was not of some help. Good luck Autumn
