Whats wrong with my car?!

My 2002 Oldsmobile Alero died on the weekend, and I'm wondering if you can help me
figure out why! I was taking a corner, and my abs/trac off/service engine soon lights
came on. Then, my car completely died. I was not able to start it (the ignition made
some noise, but it wasn't near close to turning over). Any ideas? I'm hoping its not the
alternator, and maybe an ignition or electrical thing?

Also, how do I know if my car is a GX or a GX Coupe? Its nowhere in my manual.

1) Go to: http://gmvindecoder.net/, have your VIN# ready and you can find out specifics on your car. 2) Now, first check your battery and see if there is a lot of corrosion on the terminals. If so, clean well. take the terminals off, and buy a tool at the DollarStore that has a wire brush for battery posts and cable terminals. If that does not fix it, check the other end of neg. cable, the big one for a good, solid ground on chassis/frame. Then you may have to beg, buy, borrow or steal an OBD scanner and see what is going on if you are not able to get the car to AutoZone to have them read. The ABS warning lights probably just came on because it died, may have nothing to do with it
