My car hesitates to pick up speed when I press on
the gas what could be the problem

fuel filter ok?? also try and put a bottle of ZMAX gas treatment in.

Also take it in to any auto parts store for a free OBD trouble code check, not all of them set "check engine" lights. If there is any code being set it'll help you find potential problems.

Check plugs and boots, sounds like u may have lost a leg of power
