please read details on this 1999 Quest nightmare all at once.
This all started with a supposed timing belt issue in this 1999 Nissan Quest
Mechanic calls me.. and says the belt is fine it was some screw that caused
your vehicle to stall but suggests a new timing belt so I get one. After I get
the car back when I turn the Ac on or heat it makes a screeching sound
(the belt) I take it back and its adjusted.. then a day later my check engine
light comes on and I stall.. i bring it back they run a diagnostic and say they
are getting two codes one the distributor and the other the knock sensor..
he thinks its just the distributor causing the sensor to go off so i get the
distributor replaced. Now the screeching is gone the check engine light is
off but when I start the car its struggling to get started and stalling when he
heat or air are on if I am not moving... I call the mechanic at
Firestone(same guy) nice guy and he says .. bring it back ill put your old
distributor in and refund you and you will have to find another mechanic.... I
have no idea why it is doing that. Sometimes it starts right up.. but now
mostly I have to start it by hitting the accelerator. I think actually that the
knock sensor is actually bad as well . i was also having all kinds of weird
shit happening with my electrical system doors locking unlocking on there
own.. the back door window opening by itself when I am driving so i took
the battery out of the car remote and it stopped. This car is all fucked up
does anyone have any idea wtf is going on with this thing or suggestions?
The van also rocks back and forth when the air/heat is on.. and you can hear the engine missing .. it just does not sound right.. if I leave the air/heat on it will stall if im idle.
